PZHK acknowledged by KWPN

For years, the KWPN has granted acknowledged status to studbooks ranked in the top ten of the World Breeding Federation for Sport Horses (WBFSH) over multiple years. Offspring of stallions approved by a KWPN-acknowledged studbook qualify for Register A and, upon meeting specific criteria, are accepted into the KWPN studbook. The KWPN Breeding Council for riding horses, which has discussed criteria for acknowledged status on several occasions, recently recommended that the number of KWPN-acknowledged studbooks be expanded to include the top seventeen of the WBFSH. This change allows more horses to qualify for Register A and relegates fewer to Register B. Furthermore, the recommendation benefits breeders, as the KWPN breeding program offers more opportunities for Register A horses, provided they meet conformation, performance, and health criteria. The Breeding Council also recommended that a studbook rank among the top seventeen of the WBFSH in dressage or jumping at least twice in order to qualify for KWPN-acknowledged status.
